Kevin G. Hessler has been a practicing family law attorney in Montgomery County since 1982. He has been recognized by the Washingtonian magazine and the Baltimore magazine as one of the Washington area’s top divorce lawyers. He has been a partner with the firm since joining it in 1999. Prior to that, he was a partner in the Rockville, Maryland firm of Miller, Steinberg and Hessler.

He graduated from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1981 and was a member of the school’s law review. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Bucknell University in 1978.

Upon graduation from law school, Kevin worked as a judicial law clerk first with the Honorable John J. Mitchell, of the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, and then with the Honorable John P. Moore, of the Court of Special Appeals of Maryland.

He has served on numerous boards and committees, including the Character Committee for Admission to the Bar of Maryland, the Governor of Maryland’s Select Committee on Gender Equality in the Court System, the Montgomery County Commission for Women, the Montgomery County Divorce Roundtable, and the Ad Hoc Committee for the Establishment of a Differentiated Case Management System in the Family Division for the Circuit Court of Montgomery County.

Mr. Hessler is a Bencher member of the Montgomery Inn of the American Inns of Court, and an elected Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. He is the author of extensive training materials on various family law topics.

Kevin is married, has three children, and is a life-long resident of Montgomery County.
